The Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, for development of curriculum and teaching methodologies, establishment of advanced laboratories and conduct of faculty development programmes and students workshops.
TMREIS secretary, B. Shafiullah, and Prof. B.S. Murty, director, IIT Hyderabad, signed the agreement on Tuesday. The MoU is expected to help achieve excellence in academic programmes. As per the MoU IIT Hyderabad will provide mentorship to TMREIS students.
“There will be greater interaction between the two institutions. The collaboration will help improve the teaching quality at TMRIES through short term and long term certificate courses”, said Mr. Shafiullah.
The TMREIS can now look forward to establishing of Atal Tinkering Lab, video satellite link and assistance in development of e-classrooms, library and labs. Atal Tinkering Labs are workspaces in schools where students of Class VI to Class XII can acquire innovative skills through hands-on learning. The Niti Aayog envisions nourishing one million students as innovators in the future.
